PAYSON LAKES GUARD STATION

SPANISH FORK RANGER DISTRICT

The Guard Station complex can sleep a maximum of 8 people in bunk beds; four people inside the cabin and four people in the bunkhouse. Up to 7 additional day use only guests may visit. Parking space is limited to 5 family vehicles. No vehicles are permitted off the pavement. An adjacent pasture is included which can accommodate 8 horses. There is a 2-night minimum stay and a maximum 7-day stay limit. Pets are not allowed. Guests should bring their own bedding, plates, and utensils. Guests will check in with the Payson Lakes Campground Host who will escort them to the cabin. Guests may bring their own firewood or purchase it at the campground; firewood collecting at the Guard Station complex is not allowed.

 

MILL HOLLOW GUARD STATION

HEBER- KAMAS RANGER DISTRICT

The Mill Hollow Guard Station is located in the Uinta National Forest next to Mill Hollow Reservoir and campground at an elevation of 8,800 feet. This is a unique recreational experience of staying in a historic Forest Service cabin while providing funds for the ongoing maintenance and renovation of these historic buildings.

The maximum capacity of the complex is 8 people. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds. The bathroom is located on the main floor. The gathering area is located on the main floor, equipped with sofas and chairs Bring your linens, dishes, silverware, cups, and glasses, pots and pans are provided- a fully equipped kitchen. There is running water, a shower, flush toilets, a wood stove, and propane lights/appliances. Utilities are included.  

The garage is not accessible to the public. No pets are allowed. 

CURRANT CREEK GUARD STATION

HEBER- KAMAS RANGER DISTRICT

This duplex cabin is adjacent to the beautiful Currant Creek Reservoir at an elevation of 8,000 feet. A wide variety of recreational activities awaits, including boating, fishing, and hiking.

The maximum capacity of the complex is 32 people. Each unit can sleep up to 8 people. Each side of the cabin has running water, flush toilets, showers, propane heat, and modern appliances. There are also four trailer pads with hook-ups for additional RV parking that can be used if paid for on-site. Additional fees will apply.

  • Unit #A: There is 1 bedroom with a queen bed. The bathroom is on the main floor. The gathering area is located on the main floor, equipped with sofas and chairs. Bring your linens, dishes, silverware, cups, and glasses, pots and pans are provided- fully equipped kitchen. Utilities are included.

  • Unit #B: There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds. The bathroom is on the main floor. The gathering area is located on the main floor, equipped with sofas and chairs. Bring your linens, dishes, silverware, cups, and glasses, pots and pans are provided- fully equipped kitchen. Utilities are included.

  • The garage is not accessible to the public. No pets are allowed.

SOLDIER CREEK VACATION CABIN

HEBER- KAMAS RANGER DISTRICT

This large vacation cabin is next to the beautiful Strawberry Reservoir at an elevation of 7,200 feet. Visitors flock to Strawberry for its great fishing, boating and trail opportunities.

The maximum capacity of the complex is 50 people. The Vacation house can sleep up to 16 people. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds and 4 rooms with bunk beds. ADA bathroom on the main floor and community-style bathroom/ shower on the top floor. The gathering area is located on the main floor, equipped with sofas and chairs, TV and DVD player. Bring your linens, dishes, silverware, cups, and glasses, pots and pans are provided- a fully equipped kitchen. Utilities are included. Maximum of 4 trailers.
